Supporting Students Online
There are many opportunities for NCVPS students to extend their knowledge and to find additional support while taking classes online with NCVPS. It is our goal to provide a broad-based approach to online learning by giving opportunities for students to deepen their knowledge or find assistance with specific questions related to their course.
Culture Cafe
The Culture Cafe is a new social and educational setting that brings together current, former and future NCVPS world language students in an online environment in order to immerse them in the culture of online world languages. Former students can stay connected to the language they have learned, current students will get to practice the language and future students can gain a sneak peak at our robust world language courses.

SCHOOL SUPPORT SERVICES (SSS)
The SSS Division provides assistance and consultation to a broad range of people, including:
- Central Office eLearning Coordinator (ELC) and School-Based eLearning Advisors (ELAs), including those from traditional school districts, charter schools and federal Department of Defense (DOD) schools
- Students and parents
- School and Central Office administration
- Overall NCVPS staff and the NCDPI staff and administration
SSS provides service based upon the NCVPS comprehensive plan. It is our mission to educate and inform all partners and stakeholders about the NCVPS operational guidelines and policies to better prepare students for their virtual learning experience. They will also develop leadership capacity to align NCVPS and 21st century goals into with schools’ and districts’ work to meet the State Board of Education’s “Future Ready Goals” (pdf, 27kb). Each NCVPS inquiry should be directed to the assigned Virtual Learning Consultant (VLC) who oversees their county. Regional assignments are identified in the table below.
