Regional Support Plan

REGIONAL TEAM PLAN

The School Support Services (SSS) Division team is comprised of five initial staff members:

  1. David Edwards, Chief Communications and Professional Learning Officer
  2. James Bell, Region 1 Virtual Learning Consultant
  3. Connie Joyner, Region 2 Virtual Learning Consultant
  4. Adam Renfro, Region 3 Virtual Learning Consultant
  5. Melissa Davis, Region 4 Virtual Learning Consultant

The SSS Division provides assistance and consultation to a broad range of people, including:

  • Central Office Distance Learning Coordinator (DLC) and School-Based Distance Learning Advisors (DLAs), including those from traditional school districts, charter schools and federal Department of Defense (DOD) schools
  • Students and parents
  • School and Central Office administration
  • Overall NCVPS staff and the NCDPI staff and administration

SSS provides service based upon the NCVPS comprehensive plan. It is our mission to educate and inform all partners and stakeholders about the NCVPS operational guidelines and policies to better prepare students for their virtual learning experience. They will also develop leadership capacity to align NCVPS and 21st century goals into with schools’ and districts’ work to meet the State Board of Education’s "Future Ready Goals" (pdf, 27kb). Each NCVPS inquiry should be directed to the assigned Virtual Learning Consultant who oversees their county. Regional assignments are identified in the table below.
