NCVPS/LEO has a strong learning relationship with the North Carolina LEA school districts. NCVPS/LEO has already commenced Phase I of its Pilot Program and is in Phase II with 8 new school districts and two of the Regional Education Service Agencies (RESA). The focus is on developing virtual professional learning communities in which e-leadership strategies can be developed and deployed into districts and schools. Best practices gleaned from the Pilot program are then shared with the state.
NCVPS/LEO uses 21st century tools such as Blackboard and Wimba Collaboration Suite to foster online professional learning communities. Pilot districts who agree to specific expectations outlined in a Memorandum of Agreement also gain access to the use of these tools to foster e-leadership practices in their schools and districts. For more information on our Pilot Program, please contact Don Lourcey at dlourcey@dpi.state.nc.us.
